The SINTEF group is the largest independent research organization in Scandinavia. Every year SINTEF supports the development of over 2000 companies via our R&D activity and currently ca. 2000 persons generate an annual turnover of € 375 million.   The division Energy Research is working on everything from process and refrigeration technology, thermal food processing, combustion, bioenergy, CO2 capture and environmental impact. SINTEF Energy Research has a staff of 209 and the institute has four research departments. In cooperation with Norwegian University of Science and Technology, we have 7000 m2 of modern laboratories available for research, development and education. The department of Thermal Processes focuses amongst other on food processing and refrigeration technology and has a leading position in Norway within energy processes, energy efficiency, food technology, freezing.
